Library:

Central Library occupies a place of pride in KLU and is an essential component of the institute’s outstanding research and education mission.

It is a most lively place on the campus providing a safe, comfortable and friendly environment that enables learning and advancement of knowledge, and promotes discovery and scholarship. The mission of the Central Library is to facilitate creation of new knowledge through acquisition, organization and dissemination of knowledge resources and providing for value added services. The Central Library system consists of Central Library and 13 departmental libraries, which collectively support the teaching, research and extension and employees of the Institute are permitted to make use of library facilities. The library has a huge collection of books on Engineering, Management, Science and Humanities and has been offering library services through its various divisions.

Library Resources:

The Central Library has an excellent collection of Books, Journals and Non Book Materials in Science, Engineering, Technology, Humanities and Management.

Library Computerization:

The Central Library has computerized all its activities including Acquisition, Cataloguing, Circulation, and stock verification using in – house software. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) can be accessed on Internet and Intranet. The Central Library used Barcode and Biometric technology for computerized circulation system and stock verification. The Central Library has developed in-house facility for bar coding of books and ID cards.

Video Collection and Video Viewing:

The Central Library has a collection of 300 video lectures. The Central Library is equipped with video viewing facility through FTP.

The Central Library remains open on all days of the academic year.

Major Services in the library include Reference services, Photocopying service, Resource sharing (Inter – Library Loan), Information alert services of new arrivals.

Digital Library:

Digital Library is a part of the Central Library with network built up of fiber optic Giga-byte Ethernet backbone. The digital library has 60 computer terminals to access Internet(240 mbps bandwidth)/E-Learning material. It also has a CD server with 1000 CD capacity.

The Central Library is a member of DELNET, INFLIBNET,ASME, IEEE, ACM, MAA, MIS, EBSCO and Bio pharma International, Geotechnical Engineering, Nature, IE, Computer Society of India, SPRINGER LINK, EBSCO, PROWSE and national knowledge network.
