Dr. K. Shrinivasulu has been working in this Institute since 2006. He joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology. Recently, i.e., on August 17, 2023, he was reappointed as the Head-Department of Biotechnology. Thus, at present, he is heading two departments concurrently. During his previous tenure as HOD-Biotechnology between 2014 and 2018, he expanded the department in all ways from infrastructure, research projects, placements, and publications. For instance, a DST-FIST grant worth 80 lakhs was sanctioned. He is an able administrator with multiple skill sets, creative efficiency, quicker grasping, ability of analytical decision making, high adaptability and flexibility to changing circumstances, good interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and devotion with 22 years of teaching experience.
Prof. Shrinivasulu has always been instrumental in establishing and developing departments in the university. For instance, he established the department of pharmacy at the university. He has also worked for admissions from 2009 onwards. He conducted admissions, branding, and promotional activities like digital marketing for the university. Dr. Shrinivasulu has also been spreading awareness about various academic programs through parent/student counseling sessions which are covered by television channels and newspapers from time to time. He is an active member of various internal committees namely NBA, NAAC, and UGC.
He obtained his bachelor's degree from ANU, Guntur in the year 1997 and a master’s in MICROBIOLOGY from SRTMU, Nanded in March 2000. He received a Ph.D. from ANU, GUNTUR DURING 2013. He attended and conducted many International and national conferences and published 38 papers in international journals including those of Q1 and Q2 category to his credit. He is acting as a BOS member for various autonomous colleges. His research areas include cancer biology, microbial secondary metabolites, and edible food coatings. He acted as the CO-PI for the women's technology park project funded by DST worth 90 lakhs.
Prof. Shrinivasulu has provided his able guidance to 2 Ph.D. candidates. One among them is Dr. Shanthi, currently working as an Assistant Professor at Osmania University. The other candidate Dr. Vignesh is working as Assistant Professor for Yogivemana University. Moreover, five new Ph.D. students have joined under Prof. Shrinivasulu. Besides, Prof. Shrinivasulu has always motivated students to perform research and actively participate in social entrepreneurship.
