More than 350 students along with faculty from the Department of Civil Engineering, K L University participated in the “Road Safety Awareness Meeting” jointly organized by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Vijayawada Toll Way (P) Ltd.


19th January 2012

Centre for Extension Activities (CEA) in association with Department of Civil Engineering & Construction Department, K L University organized a one day training program to masons on “Good Construction Practices” at K L University. Sri Mangapathi Rao, Resource Faculty from National Academy of Construction, Guntur facilitated the masons on human attitudes, healthy practices at Work Sites, Common mistakes done in concrete mixing, Impurities in metals and sand, quality of the cement, Rod bending, centering, safety aspects in construction.


31st December 2011

The faculty and students of Civil Engineering Department, K L University visited Orphanage MATRUCHAYA at Nutakki Village, Guntur District and organized a few entertainment activities to children. They distributed toys, indoor & outdoor games, story books, and stationary in the form of prizes along with fruits and chocolates. Students, Staff and Faculty had contributed generously for this activity on the eve of New Year 2012

Third year B-Tech (Civil Engineering) students of K L University participated in road safety awareness program organized by M/s National Highway Authority India Ltd. (NHAI) in association with agencies implementing widening and expansion of NH5 between Vijayawada and Chilakaluri Peta.


21st October 2011

Department of Civil Engineering organized a social service program at MATRUCHAYA, an orphanage near Nutakki Village, Guntur District which is around five kilometers away from K L University. Funds for this program were raised by second, third and final year B-Tech (Civil Engineering) students.

Third year B-Tech (Civil Engineering) students Y. Monica (09100136), M. Tejaswini Meher (09100178), JRR Nishitha (09100142) and Y. Keerthi (09100128) did a case study on “Assessment of Bacteriological quality of drinking water in Vijayawada City” during 21st September 2011 to 28th November 2011. The students collected samples of drinking water from more than hundred locations including railway stations, bus terminals, government offices, public parks, educational institutions, religious places, hospitals, busy market places, etc and performed various tests using “Bacteriological Testing Kit” from Orlab.
