The department is headed by Prof.S.Venkateswarlu with 23 years of experience in teaching and research. He has published & presented 42 papers at various national/international Journals/conferences. He completed 3 Research Projects. He participated at various conferences & work shops organized by the reputed and renowned academic institutes & industries. The department always maintains the required number of faculty as per the norms stipulated by the statutory bodies. All faculty posses M.Tech. Degree and 25 members are doing Ph.D. There are 12 Doctorates in the department. The faculty is a perfect blend of Academicians and Industry professionals having different specializations in Computer Science and Engineering to impart their expertise through diversified courses of the B.Tech program. The department is also offering a Post graduate program in Computer Science and Engineering, and Computer Networks. The department is also offering Doctoral program in all major areas of computer science.

Our professors have been recognized as Research supervisors by various Universities in India. The department has been recognized by Acharaya Nagarjuna University as its Research Centre. Active research is going on in the fields of Data Mining and Networking. The focus areas of the department for R&D activities identified are Software Engineering, Data Mining, Networking and Client Server Technology, Cryptography & Network Security and Embedded systems. An R&D Center has been established in the department to take up Research projects and also to cater to the needs of faculty, who are doing their Research work. Students are also involved in the research activities of the faculty. In addition, faculty of the department is executing the R&D Projects funded by the external agencies, as project works for final year students. Faculty of the department has published more than 250 papers during the past few years in different journals and conferences.

A faculty of the department published 7 Textbooks for BCA course of Acharaya Nagarjuna University. The department has organized 2 National Level Workshops and 3 National student level paper presentation contests and 1 international conference.

A good number of faculties are attending the conferences/workshops etc., to enhance their quality in academics and to get themselves acquainted with latest technological trends. The faculty is also deputed to Industrial training during slack period of the academic year. Faculties are being invited to deliver extension lectures by the industries as per their requirements.

MOU’s are signed with 25 Industries in around Hyderabad and Chennai and an academic tie-up with Osmania University (PGRRCDE), Hyderabad and University of Cincinnati, USA etc., to establish the Industry-Institution interaction for arranging Industrial visits, to take up live projects and to offer training to the faculty and staff and for faculty and student exchange.

At the beginning of each academic year Teacher Training Program is being conducted to train the newly recruited faculty with less than 5 years of experience. During the program Senior Professors of the college will deliver Model Lectures, emphasis the techniques to deliver lecture effectively. In addition, Technical Teacher Training Institute (TTTI, Chennai) has conducted a series of lectures as part of training program.

A major syllabus revision will take place for every 3 years under University status emphasizing on contemporary technologies and job oriented courses. Senior faculties from all specializations are involved in framing and finalizing the syllabus.
