Session 1 : An Alternative paradigm of computing- A Free Software Perspective

Mr Ashish Handled this session explaining the freedoms of free software, comparing with what we are losing by usage of proprietary softwares. He also shown some surprising facts of the losses incurred by usage of proprietary softwares. Free software alternatives for the tools we used today are shown and also explained how one can contribute to the development of technology. At the end of the session a motivational video is played showing how change happens.

Session 2 : Python Scripting

Mr Sunil Mohan started of with introducing the interface of GNU/Linux Operating System. There on he moved onto python scripting language, a simpler programming language which can be written is very few lines of code compared to other programming languages around. He showed some examples explaining how powerful is the programming language and it is user understandable simple code. Students showed immense interest in working on Python and they practiced the same on their laptops throughout the session.
