Industrial Visits

    The students of III/ IV (section – A& B) have been taken to VISHAKHAPATNAM STEEL PLANT & N T P C SIMHADRI on 04/09/2010 and 03/09/2010.

    V.S.P was established in 1982 and it has about 25 years of thrust. These are the trend setters for the steel.

    In this industrial visit to VSP on 4th September of 2010, we have covered important departments in the vizag steel plant such as T.P.P (Thermal Power Plant) Department, Blast furnace, Steel rod mills and the coke production chamber.

    The faculty members accompanied were Mr. P.V. Pattabhiram, Mr. D. Narasimharaju, and Mr.D.Kalyan & Ms. B. Jhansi.

Vishakapatnam Steel Plant

    N.T.P.C. SIMHADRI was established in 2002 and it has about 8 years of thrust. Presently four units each of capacity 250 MW are running.

    In this industrial visit to N.T.P.C on 3rd September of 2010, we have covered important departments in the Boiler section, water treatment plant, Cand computerized load monitoring department. The day visited, unfortunately two units were under repair and over oiling and hence few students were permitted to visit the plant.

N.T.P.C. Simhadri

  • The students of IV/ IV (section – B) have been taken to Kirloskar Ltd., & Barukha Power Plant MYSORE 01/10/2010.
    The faculty members accompanied were Mr. P.V. Pattabhiram, & Ms. M. Sushmita
  • The students of III/ IV (section – A& B) have been taken to POWER GRID CORPORATION LIMITED, NUNNA ON 24 / 02/2011 & 28 / 02 /11.
    This organization was formed in 1993. Its main objective is to maintain continuous supply of electricity and also healthy supply. Students were took around the switch yard and control room. In the beginning a ppt presentation was given by Mr. Ram Kumar, D.G.M. This ppt highlights the work and achievements of the organization. Students were took around the unit by Mr. Mohan rao and Mr. Khan, The faculty members accompanied were Mr. C Sudheer Babu Mr. P. Siva sankar and Ms. B. Krishna veni for B- section and Mr.D. Kalyan, Mr. K. Ranganayakulu & Ms. B. Jhansi for A- section.
    Timings were 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
