Program Educational Objectives:
Program educational objectives are broad statements that
describe the career and professional accomplishments that the program is
preparing graduates to achieve.
Three to six years after graduation, graduates who choose
to practice in Petroleum engineering should be able to
- Have a successful diverse career path in the
Petroleum Industry
- continue professional development through
participation and leadership in professional organizations (SPE, API, SPG).
- pursue lifelong learning through continuing education
or postgraduate education (professional meetings, short courses, graduate
courses).
- progress to professional registration so that some
individuals graduate from an ABET-accredited degree plan, pass the
Fundamentals of Engineering Exam, work in increasingly responsible
engineering positions, and pass the Professional Exam.
