Keeping various academic needs of students and specific requirements of personality development in view, the department of Communication and Soft Skills (CSS) is devoted to develop Communication ands Soft Skills of Students. CSS was formed by drawing faculty with Mathematics, Humanities and Social and Behavioral Sciences background. Formed in 2005, CSS has 2 Mathematicians, 10 English Language and Soft Skills specialists and Psychologists and HR trainers as faculty members. Apart from conducting Conventional Class Room Training, CSS has established a Career Development Laboratory and a 6-Semester Integrated Skills Program for Students of first three years of B.Tech Course. Skills in Communication, Logical and Analytical Domains beyond just theoretical knowledge are adequately addressed by CSS Curriculum specifically designed and implemented at KLU.

Their knowledge and skill levels in oral communication are generally dormant and may not be inherently under-par; a situation that is compounded and aggravated by absence of properly nurtured social and behavioral Skills. These latter skills that are lacking are needed to build the Confidence Levels of Students. If properly addressed these lacunae can be overcome substantially. Students here are found to be generally diligent and only need to be oriented towards successful Careers by restructuring their Attitudes slightly.

The Methods employed in Career Development Laboratory are interactive in nature and are well tested group activities involving between 5-to-10 Students. A session of two hours integrates two-to-four skills and Instructors use Handouts and Audio-Visual Aids like Over Head Projectors, Computer Courseware etc. Periodic English Proficiency Tests (EPT) are conducted to measure the progress made by Students in all these areas. Placement Record of KLU has been making rapid strides and gains over the last 4 years.

Group Discussions: Planning and providing interactive platforms like:
