The National Students’ Conference on Recent Advancements in Civil Engineering (RACE-2012) is going to be organized by Department of Civil Engineering,      K L University in association with Cafet-Innova Technical Society (CITS) and Indian Society for Technical Education, (ISTE) KLU Chapter during 24-25 August 2012 at K L University, Vaddeswaram, Guntur District. Andhra Pradesh, INDIA.

K L University is a pioneer in the field of engineering education and research in private sector in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It was established as Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering in the year 1980. The college was made Autonomous in the year 2006 and in 2009 it is accorded Deemed to be University status. K L University is situated in a spacious 50-acre campus on the banks of Buckingham Canal of river Krishna, eight kilometers from Vijayawada city. Built within a rural setting of lush green fields, the Institute is a virtual paradise of pristine nature and idyllic beauty. The campus has been aptly named "Green Fields" and the splendid avebue of trees and gardens bear testimony to importance of ecology and environment. The campus ambience is most befitting for scholastic pursuits. The Institute has a built up area of around 8, 00, 000 sq.ft. and has over 84 laboratories.

The Department of Civil Engineering was established in 1980 with an intake of 60 students. The department has been successful in producing the excellent and well-trained graduates. The department offers B-Tech in Civil Engineering, M-Tech (full time) in Structural Engineering, M-Tech (part-time) in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering and PhD programme. The department offers flexible curriculum for B-Tech students to enable specialization in Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, and Environmental Engineering with their B-Tech degree.

The Department also offers integrated M-Tech programme. The department has well equipped laboratories in all areas. Many of the alumni from this department hold prestigious positions in leading academic institutions, industry and government in different countries all over the world.
