Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering
The department started Undergraduate program in the year 1980, and Postgraduate program in
Communication & Rader System in the year 2002. The department has well qualified and experienced faculty,
well equipped laboratories and a host of State-of-the-art softwares. The unique feature of the ECE
department is its manpower, drawn from Academics, Research organizations and from reputed Multinational
electronics giants of the corporate world. In addition to the laboratories 4 research centers with
sophisticated equipment are in place. Outsourcing projects from AICTE, DLRL, DEAL, UGC, DST, ISRO and
other organizations are efficiently handled by the department. The Faculty and students are actively
involved in various research activities. The department has MOUs with ECIL and Efftronics.

National Instruments
National Instruments offers a flexible platform ideal to teach, perform research in the area of Embedded System,
Signal Processing, Communication and Electronics circuit design in KLU. It also helps to explore embedded system.
National instruments lab view is powerful design environment for signal acquisition, measurement analysis
and data presentation, giving the opportunity of a programming language without the complexity of traditional
development tools.

About the Department
The department started Undergraduate program in the year 1995 and Postgraduate program in specialization
of Power Electronics and Power Systems in the year 2004. The department has well qualified, experienced faculty
and state-of-the-art laboratories and softwares. Active research is going on in the areas of Power Systems,
Power Electronics & Drives and Control Systems. The department has undertaken AICTE & UGC sponsored R&D Projects.
The department has very strong interaction with several reputed industries like LANCO, VTPS, Vijay Electricals,
Medha Servo Drives, etc. and R&D organizations like CPRI.

Xilinx
Xilinx works in the area of reconfigurable design like Complex Programmable Logic Devices (CPLD),
Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA). The tools offered by the Xilinx are useful for faster,
cheaper complex designs. The devices offered by the Xilinx like Chipscope, Spartan, Vertex, etc.,
are reconfigurable through Xilinx starter kit, which is useful for academic purposes. The embedded designs,
DSP designs can also be implemented on those devices. The students trained in these tools offered by the Xilinx
have an edge in VLSI industry and research organizations.
