About the Department
The ECE department offers undergraduate, post graduate & Doctoral programs. The department has nine laboratories including a Computer center, Antenna test facility etc. These laboratories are very well equipped and cater to the needs of UG as well as PG students. It has a total of four research centers called "Centre for Applied Research in Electronics (CARE), Liquid Crystal Research Centre (LCRC), Opto Electronics & Photo Acoustics (OE&PA) & Aero Space Communication Research Centre(ASCOR)", where student projects, mini projects & outsourced R & D projects from outside agencies, AICTE, UGC & DST are being pursued.
The department is offering UG, PG programs and a number of scholars are pursuing Doctoral work. The department’s academic calendar is highlighted by regular seminars, student paper contests, Staff development programmes, Industry alliance, student personality development programmes for all round development of students. Games & Cultural events from essential part of student life here and many have participated in National & International events.

Depatment of ECE - Description
The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) has been accredited by NBA twice. Faculty cover all major fields of ECE like Antennas, Communication, Digital Signal
Processing and VLSI.
In addition to the UG Program, ECE is also offering a PG Program in two specializations Communication and Radar Systems and VLSI.
ECE Department has 8 well established Laboratories. Special Software packages like Cadence, PSPICE, MATLAB, Xilinx, MULTISIM, MODELSIM, RATIONAL ROSE, KIEL are made available to Students .
Department of ECE organized two International Conferences in the name of RSPS-2008 and RSPS-2010. The theme of the conference is RF & Signal Processing Systems. ECE has conducted 12 National Level Student Paper contests and Faculty Workshops during the last 5 years.
ECE is undertaking External Sponsored Projects from DLRL, DEAL and many other prestigious Organizations. Active research is going on in the Department in the fields of Radar, Antennas, Communication and Digital Signal Processing. ECE has identified five major Thrust Areas for Research like Antennas, Communication, Digital Signal Processing, Embedded Systems and VLSL
Objectives :
The graduates of the ECE Program :
- Will have a solid foundation in Electronics and Communication Engineering along with competencies to apply knowledge in Mathematics and Science.
- Will have the analytical and practical skills to solve engineering problems.
- Will have professional and communication skills to function as leaders in multi-disciplinary teams.

- Industries involving wireless communications and signal processing, micro and nano electronics, lasers and optics, electronic devices, telecommunications, nanotechnology, robotics, information systems, power systems, computer software, hardware integration, control systems, and other advanced technologies.
- Placement in leading core communication companies like BSNL, MTNL, Reliance Communications, Tata Telecom, Hutch, Bharti Telecom, Aritel, Nokia, CISCO, IBM, Intel, Agilent, Alcatel, AT & T Ericsson, Honeywell, Bosch, National Instruments, Texas Instruments, HCL and others.

The Department started undergraduate program in the year 1995 and Postgraduate program in the specialization of Power Electronics and Power Systems in the Year 2004. The Department offers Prost Graduate Programs in the areas of Power Systems, Power Electronics & Drives. The Department also offers PhD Program in all major areas of Electrical Engineering. Active research is going on in the areas of Power Systems, Power Electronics & Drives and Control Systems. The department has undertaken AICTE & UGC sponsored R & D projects. The department has very strong interaction with several reputed industries like LANCO, VTPS, Vijay
Electricals, Medha Servo Drives etc. and Training and Development organizations like CPRI, BHEL.

Program Objectives:
- To prepare students to succeed in industry and to provide necessary platform to pursue academics, keeping in pace with global standards
- To provide standards with strong foundation in mathematical, applied physics and core areas of electrical engineering required to solve engineering problems and also to pursue higher studies.
- To train the students in practical / application aspects of engineering through various laboratories, industrial training so as to comprehend, analyse, design novel products or
provide solutions to the real life problems in electrical industry.
- To encourage pursuit of research & development.

- More than 150 students have presented their technical papers in National level contests conducted by other organizations and won prizes.
- One of the M.Tech students is selected for Prestigious “Special Student Award” from GE India with a grant of $10,000 (Ten Thousand Dollars) to develop his Idea in Micro Grids
