AICTE sponsored Staff Development Programme on Research Methodology and Statistical Analysis using SPSS
Business complexity in Indian scenario is increasing day-by-day triggering various issues and business problems. Research methodology is a structured framework of conducting management research in order to address various issues and to solve problems in a scientific way. To enhance research skills of faculty, AICTE sponsored Staff Development Programme on ?Research Methodology and Statistical Analysis using SPSS? was organized by the Dept. of Management Sciences, KL University during March 17th - 30th, 2010. This programme provided a unique opportunity to the participants to get themselves trained in the methodology of business research and statistical analysis.
Prof. S.V.D. Nageswara Rao from IIT Mumbai inaugurated the programme on 17th March, 2010. The programme covered various topics like Research fundamentals, Identifying and defining research problems, Literature review, Research design, Formulation of objectives and Hypothesis formulation ,Selection of Sample Design, Approaches of data collection, Data editing, coding and processing, Data analysis using Statistical software, Hypothesis testing, Interpretation of findings, Report/ Thesis writing and indexing, Writing Research papers, etc. First week of the programme i.e from March 17th to 23rd,2010 mainly dealt with theoretical understanding and conceptual clarity of various aspects of research and second week i.e from March 25th to 30th, 2010 was application oriented using Statistical software (SPSS) providing hands-on experience to the participants.
