KL Deemed to be University Imparts Training on Contemporary Baking Techniques to hone Advance Hospitality Skills

The bakery industry is one of the most booming sectors in today’s world, and its future is quite prospective and bright. Bakery startups are aiding young entrepreneurs to explore new ways and means of making their identities in this competitive business world.

With an objective of imparting training in contemporary baking methods and encourage self-reliance skills among students, the department of Hotel Management at KL Deemed to be University hosted a one-day workshop on "Bakery Demonstration". Under the supervision of Mr. V. Dhananarayanan, the workshop emerged as one of the best workshops for hospitality students. It offered opportunity to learn modern techniques of baking, gain knowledge and hone existing abilities.

Assorted bread, biscuits, cookies, pizza, Surti butter, bread sticks, Italian focaccia, dinner rolls, dry fruit cookies, pineapple cake, and black forest cake were some of the bakery products that were made by the Food Production students. Different facets of comprehending raw ingredients, processing, bakery equipment, and techniques were taught throughout the workshop.

The Bakery Workshop has aided students in developing their product preparation skills and their understanding of the scientific principles involved in baking. Furthermore, it taught students how to handle various equipment and machinery, analyze the economics of food production, and identify the essential tastes, aromas, textures, and flavors that work together to create delectable, decadent confectionary, and bakery items.

The students of third-year B.Sc. Hotel Management with Food Production and Bakery domain were the main beneficiaries. The workshop aims to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit in students so that they will be lined up to establish and manage a bakery unit and gain expertise in the bakery industry. Such skill-building workshops will undoubtedly ignite entrepreneurship among the participants, said one of the Hotel Management Faculty.

When I was a child, I used to admire the way my mom used to cook, and her food presentation skills were awesome. My liking towards cooking has grown with age, and seeing my interest, my parents encouraged me to pursue a Hotel Management course from KL Deemed to be University. During the course period, I learned many techniques, tips, and important aspects, relating to food production. Now with my best baking skills, I can treat my friends and family with mouth-watering food, said one of the students.
