World Skills Competitions 2022 Special Edition
KL Winning Moment at the 46th World Skills Competitions, Germany

The proud alumnus of KL Deemed to be University won 3rd prize at the 46th World Skills Competitions 2022 Special Edition. Mr. P. Srimannarayana Raju, student of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering (2015-2019) batch, represented India at the prestigious event held from 13th to 16th October 2022 in Soest, at the South Westphalia University, Soest, Germany.

World Skills Competition is the biggest International skill event conducted biannually, and Srimannarayana Raju competed in Additive Manufacturing. The event saw candidates’ participation from across the globe including China, Germany, and Singapore.

His task was to solve real-world 3D Printing, 3D Scanning & Reverse Engineering Challenges within 22 Hours in 3 Days. With his diligent attention to detail, he stood third in the

competition and bought laurels to the country. KL Deemed to be University encourage and sponsored him with a participation Kit and a 3-D Printer.

Additive Manufacturing is one of the new and fast-growing branches of engineering. It is commonly known as 3D printing. It is a way of creating solid objects, such as design prototypes, for industry and designers, from three-dimensional models by building up layers of material with less waste.

Srimannarayana Raju is passionate about Rapid Prototyping and Product Development (3D Printing/ Additive Manufacturing). He is certified by Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) as an "Executive, Proto Manufacturing Level - 4 (ASC/Q6501)." He was trained at TTTI, Toyota Kirloskar Motors Pvt Ltd (TKM), Bengaluru. He secured 4th position at India Skills 2018, the biggest national-level biannual skill competition, and the qualifier at the World Skills Competition in Prototype Modelling skill. He aspires to develop effective products to provide scalable solutions to society.
