KL becomes 2nd in India to secure Membership with Global Design Thinking Alliance
After a rigorous three-level review procedure, KL Deemed to be University has recently gained membership in the Global Design Thinking Alliance (GDTA) successfully. The second educational institution in India to accomplish this feat is KL Deemed to be University. With the membership, the university will have the chance to collaborate with 30 member universities in 21 countries across five continents and share creative ideas, showcasing the students and faculty's talents at the global level.
To promote an innovative and entrepreneurial culture among its staff and students, KL University in Vijayawada, India, established the Design Thinking and Innovation (DTI) Department. It is the first university in the nation to establish a Design Thinking and Innovation department to foster world-class entrepreneurs who can make a positive impact on society and the global community. To fulfill its mission, the DTI department has created a thorough action plan that includes providing a Fundamental Course of Design Thinking and Innovation (DTI) to all of its students. Students will learn systematic ways to approach challenges and how to use design thinking and creative problem-solving methods in this course.
Through this association, DTI students will have the chance to interact on a worldwide scale. Through group work and discussion, the students will explore novel research methodologies in design thinking. Their originality and inventiveness will increase as a result. This is a fantastic opportunity for budding design thinkers from diverse fields. Additionally, it will make it easier to incorporate real-world knowledge into the classroom through a multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving.
The GDTA is an international network of organizations that share a common goal of advancing Design Thinking education, research, and practice. Through collaboration and dialogue, the alliance intends to establish a forum for the exchange of concepts, best practices, and the exploration of novel approaches in Design Thinking research and education. Being a member institution of the GDTA enables KL Deemed to be University will have the opportunity to participate in stimulating discussions and learning opportunities with accomplished and aspiring design thinkers from different fields. This will improve, strengthen and deepen the connections between educators and Design Thinking practitioners, establishing an institutional framework to accelerate the discovery and development of Design Thinking throughout the world.
