KL Deemed to be University Ranks 35th in NIRF University Rankings 2021
KL University has once again achieved a big success in the NIRF rankings 2021. The ranking attains significance as India witnesses an unprecedented increase both in the number of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and the volume of students entering them is impacting the quality of education. In this regard, the Government of India’s emphasis on access, equity, expansion, and excellence has led to notable achievements in the first three aspects. Various statutory bodies such as UGC, AICTE, PCI and COA have made periodic prescriptions to improve the quality of education but one notable body that gives report cards on HEI remained elusive.
To take care of this, the government of India instituted the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), an annual report card on the performance of the HEIs. The NIRF ranking is based on five parameters: Teaching Learning and Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcome (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI), and Perception.
According to the 2021 rankings, KL Deemed to be University makes its stance, earning 35th Rank inAll India University Rankings 2021. It secured38th rank in the Management category and in the Engineering category it earned the 50th rank whereas in the Overall category KL University stood at 69th rank at the National level. KL University is still among top Deemed to be University in Andhra Pradesh for Engineering and Management studies.
Compared to the previous year 2020 KL University has shown tremendous growth. The University showed tremendous breakthrough in rankings from 40 in 2020 to 35 in 2021. Notably, its rank moved up skipping 21 ranks within 3 years since 2018 where it was ranked 56. The management college has soared up to the 38 rank (in 2020 ranked 70) which is the most notable aspect of all. Overall ranking has also showed improvement.
This growth can only be attributed to the relentless efforts of our faculty and students at KL University. KL Deemed to be University tops the education sector in Andhra Pradesh and still retains the most sought after and topmost Deemed to be University tag as it earned no.1 rank in Andhra Pradesh, this year too.
As a University to improve the ranking, we have ensured cent percent enrolment of students, provided the students with adequate experienced and qualified faculty (with a faculty: student ratio of 1:13), enrolment of students from other states and countries also was a big point of success with KL being the chosen destination of students from 35+ countries, emphasized and practiced recruitment of women students and faculty, scholarships, more quality research publications, and funded research projects, acquiring higher pass percentage in the exams.
