Successful Inauguration of Smart India Hackathon, 2022 @ KL Deemed to be University

KL Deemed to be University successfully hosted the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) today, on 25th August 2022. The two-day grand finale of Smart India Hackathon 2022, organized by the Union Ministry of Education’s Innovative Cell and the All India Council for Technical Education, began with great enthusiasm among the students. The KL Deemed to be University was one of the 75 higher educational institutes/ incubators which were chosen as the nodal centers to host the event. A total of 30 teams of 179 participants from various colleges across several states of India are participating in this event, and they are working on providing solutions to problem statements listed out by the Ministry of Rural Development in the areas of food technology, rural development, and agriculture.

The event at KL Deemed to be University was officially inaugurated by Mr. Ajay Reddy, Chairman, APSSDC (AP State Skill Development Corporation), Mrs. Lavanya, Joint Director, AP Innovation Society, Mr. Manoj Dharap, Nodal Center Head (MIC & AICTE Representative), in the presence of Dr. G. Pardha Saradhi Varma, Vice Chancellor, Dr. A. Srinath, Dean Skill Development and other university officials at the campus.

Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, has been interacting with the student participants every year since the inception of the Smart India Hackathon. On 25th August evening, the Prime Minister virtually interacted with KL, Deemed to be University students, and other participants. His very presence made the atmosphere cheerful, and everyone drew inspiration from his motivational speech. While addressing students at the grand finale, PM Modi appreciated the new ideas and innovative thinking of the students and encouraged them for participation and efforts towards generating solutions.

This year, the participation of females students in the Smart India Hackathon was extremely impressive at the campus. The entire event was conducted in the supervision of an officer chosen by the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell to oversee the proceedings at each nodal center throughout the whole SIH grand finale.
