KL Deemed to be University makes the Significant Jump in Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2023

KL Deemed to be University one of the leading Universities in the country for graduation, and higher education has shown an impressive rise to the 801-1000 bracket in the recent global Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings for 2023, as against 1001-1200 in the previous year. There is a significant jump of 400 spots in a single year. Apart from these incredible rankings, the university stands 1st in the state of Andhra Pradesh, 23rd rank in the country, and 9th rank among the Private Universities in India.  The university has been incrementally improving its rank over time and constantly making strides toward its goal.

KL Deemed to be University started participating in the World Rankings in 2021. Within a short span of 3 years, the university achieved significant improvement in its rankings across several performance indicators. 13 different performance metrics which are grouped into five categories were used to evaluate institutions, giving the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons among world-class research universities. These parameters included Teaching (the learning environment), Research (volume, income, and reputation), Citations (research influence); International outlook (staff, students, research); and Industry Income. The university scored well in terms of Field Weighted Citation Impact.

Times Higher Education Rankings is of the most prominent higher-education surveys that provide the underpinning university excellence in every continent across the world. It is an annual affair by the Times Higher Education, which was started in 2004 to provide the definitive list of the best universities. The latest rankings announced by London-based Times Higher Education for 2023 include a record number of 1,799 universities from 104 countries and regions- making it the largest edition of the World University Rankings in the 19-year history of the rankings. Over 121 million citations from over 15.5 million research publications were examined for this year's ranking, which includes survey responses from 40,000 experts worldwide. The Times World University Rankings are widely trusted by academia, university leaders, industry, and governments, including students who can decide their institute of choice for pursuing higher education.

The University had also achieved a significantly good ranking in some of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), viz. 101-200 bracket in Poverty alleviation, 201-300 in Clean Water and Sanitation and Responsible Consumption and Production, 301-400 in Affordable and Clean Energy, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and Climate Action, got 400+ rank in the world in Zero Hunger, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Sustainable Cities and Communities. In addition to its plethora of rankings in various streams, the university secured 601-800 bracket in the Impact Rankings 2022, 351-400 in the Young University Rankings 2022, 401-500 in the Emerging Economies University Rankings-2022, and 351-400 in the Asia University Rankings 2022.
