What are the Admission Requirements?

Admissions to KL University vary based on programs. The following are the admission requirements to different courses:

Undergraduate programs:

1. B.Tech

  • Candidates must score well in KLEEE/JEE-Main/JEE-Advanced/State-Level Engineering Entrance Exams.
  • KLU accepts Uni-GAUGE scores for B. Tech admissions.
  • A Pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination with 60% and above in aggregate and 60% and above in Group subjects.
  • Students with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) are eligible for all B. Tech programs, including BioTechnology.

2. B.Arch

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 with above 60% marks and qualified in KLEEE and NATA.

3. B.Pharmacy

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with 60% in aggregate and 60% in PCM/PCB and qualified for KLEEE.

4. B.Com/BBA/BBALLB/BBAMBA

  • The university provides admission through a written test and an interview.
  • A pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination with 55% and above and must qualify in a written test and an interview conducted by the University.

5. BCA/BA/B. Sc

  • The university provides admission through a written test and an interview.
  • A pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination with 55% and above and must qualify in a written test and an interview conducted by the university.

Postgraduate programs:

1. M.Tech

  • Candidates must have pursued B. Tech with 55% marks in the corresponding discipline of Engineering/Technology.
  • Students with M.Sc. or B. Tech degrees in any branch of engineering are eligible for the M. Tech Computer Science & Engineering program.
  • For M. Tech BioTechnology, a pass with 55% marks in B.E/B. Tech or B. Pharm /M.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences is a must.

2. MBA

  • A bachelor's degree with 55% marks in any discipline under 10+2+3 patterns is compulsory.
  • Candidates must have secured a KLMAT/ICET/MAT/CAT/XAT rank.

3. M.Sc.Chemistry

  • A bachelor's degree in science with a 6.5 CGPA with honors/Major in Chemistry.

Are there Any Entrances for Admission?

KLU admission is based on entrance examinations followed by a personal interview. The university conducts five entrance exams namely KLEEE (Koneru Lakshmaiah Engineering Entrance Examination), KLMAT (Koneru Lakshmaiah Management Admission Test), KLECET (Koneru Lakshmaiah Engineering Common Entrance Test, KLHAT (Koneru Lakshmaiah Humanities Aptitude Test), and KLSAT (Koneru Lakshmaiah Science Aptitude Test). Candidates must take the KLU entrance exam to secure admissions to engineering, humanities, sciences, management, and lateral entry to engineering programs.
