KL Campus buzzes with activities where tens and thousands of young men and women, with great aspirations and ambitions come here to pursue their academics and career. They build associations and make intense relationships with the student fraternity and faculty. They leave their footprints with their ideas, imaginations and innovations. While carving a niche of themselves, they inspire many, while getting inspired equally by the others. The below mentioned activities offer the glimpses of the student centric activities in the department of CSE.

National Service Scheme (NSS) UNIT

History of NSS

Launched in the year 1969 in KLU, the motto of the National Service Scheme (NSS) is to engage the students in nation building through volunteer social servicesright at the inception. NSS helps students to understand the challenges the communities face and allows the students to come with solutions tostimulate socio-economic progress at the community level. The motto is to awaken social consciousness and inculcate a sense of dignity of labor. The main idea of introducing the voluntary activity in the campus is to develop healthy contacts between the students and teachers while establishing a constructive link between the campus and the community.

KLEF Grants Commission headed by Dr.Radhakrishnan, recommended introduction of national service in the academic institutions on a voluntary basis with a view to developing healthy contacts between the students and teachers on the one hand and establishing a constructive linkage between the campus and the community on the other hand.

MOTTO

The mottois to put the communityinterests first followed by the individuals to inculcate a sense of collectivism, against individual ambitions and aspirations. It underlines the importance of community welfare, which ultimately leads to the welfare of theindividual citizen.

Aim

Aim The aim of the NSS is to take the students close to the ground realities and create exposure on the vows of the ordinary men and women at the grassroots. The student’s involvement in the societal issues, and challenges enhances the sense of responsibility, develops leadership qualities and the overall personality development,

NSS DAY

NSS was formally launched on 24th September, 1969, on the birth centenary year of the Father of the Nation. 24 September is celebrated every year as NSS Day with great enthusiasm throughout India.

NSS LOGO

The symbol of the NSS is based on the wheel from the rock chariot of the historic Sun temple at Konark in Odessa. It denotes the significance of the life as cycle ofcreation, preservation and release, and signify the movement in life across time and space. It is a symbol of transformation and social upgradation of the needy.
