KL College of Engineering (KL-CE) was ranked No.1 private engineering college in India for the year 2016 by India's leading higher education and technology sector magazine SiliconIndia.

The ranking applies with regard to each of the following three engineering disciplines:

  • Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
  • Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE)
  • Mechanical Engineering (ME)

In the rankings, KL-CE figured ahead of many premier public institutions, including the following IIITs and NITs:

  • International Institute of Information Technology Allahabad
  • Dirubhai Ambani Institute of Information & Communication Technology, Gandhi Nagar
  • Sardar Patel National Institute of Technology, Surat
  • Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur

ISO-9000 certified since inception, KL has been accredited twice in a row at A grade (valid up to Jan 2018), by the GoI's National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognized as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the GoI's Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR).

In the last three years (2012-15), KL faculty published over 2600 papers in national and international conferences and journals. Over 80 sponsored projects worth Rs.18-crore from the government and industry are currently being carried out at KL.
