KL University offers 4 years Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and our courses are designed inLecture-Tutorial-Practice-Skill (L-T-P-S) model to provide a comprehensive theoretical,practical, technical and skill based learning experience.
Undergraduate Program
We offer 4 different types of B. Tech programs as per the student’s choice.
B. TECH – CIVIL ENGINEERING
Student would be graduating with B. Tech degree in civil engineering if she/he could earn minimum of 170 credits, as stipulated in the curriculum of the respective department. The curriculum of Civil Engineering department is a blend of basic science, engineering science and professional core courses covering fundamental aspects of engineering. It also includes professional elective courses catering to the need of recent technological developments in Civil Engineering. Students are also offered a choice of open electives at Department and University level. For holistic development of students, courses on humanities and social sciences are included in the curriculum.

B. TECH HONOURS - CIVIL ENGINEERING
Student is eligible for B. Tech. degree with Honours subject to the fulfilment of following criteria.
- She/he should have a CGPA of 8.5 or higher at the end of 4th semester.
- Also, She/he must earn 20 additional credits through advanced courses.
The Bachelor of Technology (Honours) program at Civil Engineering Department focuses on this fundamental tenet of Engineering, where the development of critical & analytical thinking and the ability to develop an instinctive approach to any given problem statement is the driving factor that fuels the pedagogic discourse.
The B.Tech. (Honours) program offers the
“ENGINEERS OF TOMORROW” to opt for an area of specialization from the basket of various emerging technologies to be a domain specialist.

B. TECH WITH MINOR
Student is eligible for B.Tech. Degree with a Minor, subject to the following.
- Successfully acquire 20 additional credits by registering into courses offered in the category of professional core from another department.
- She/he maintains a CGPA of 7.0 at the time of award of degree.

POSTGRADUATE PROGRAM
The department offers two years Master’s Degree in the following areas of specialization in Civil Engineering.

Students are offered specialized courses during the first two semesters. In addition to this, we offer flexibility in terms of Major Project work of one-year duration with emphasis on research. The students have the choice to execute the major project either In-Campus or in association with industry or any reputed public/private research organizations.

DOCTORAL DEGREE PROGRAM
The Department of Civil Engineering offers full time and part-time Ph.D. programs for scholars on various specializations and it is one of the largest departments with 100+ Scholars registered for PhD program.
Doctoral program focuses on original research that can contribute to the existing body of knowledge. The doctoral program builds research capability that includes critical review, problem formulation, data analysis, research outputs and research contribution. Ph.D. Scholars are encouraged to actively participate in international and national conferences and publish their research work in highly acclaimed research journals. The Institute facilitates Ph.D. scholars to publish a patent based on pioneering research.
