ABSTRACT: The world of mobile communications is springing up and it is not a swerve, but a phenomenon. Wireless cellular networks are also increasing rapidly around the world and wireless communication standards like GSM, Bluetooth, Wi-Max, Wi-Fi etc., are originating enormously. There commence the need of a miniature antenna operating in different wireless communication standards. This purpose is served by Planar Inverted F-antenna simply called as PIFA. This paper deals with the design and comparison analysis of Bi-band PIFA, Tri-band PIFA, Quad-band PIFA and their results. Bi-band PIFA operates at the standards Wi-Max/Wi-Fi and Tri-band PIFA operates at the standards GSM/Wi-Max/Wi-Fi and Quad-band PIFA operates at the standards GSM/WiMax/UWB/Wi-Fi. These antennas are designed using Ansoft (HFSS) and the results are analyzed.
KEYWORDS: PIFA (Planar Inverted Folded Antenna), Dual band, Triple band, Quad band, Wireless Communication Standards.
