The procedures for detection of isomorphism are numerous but none have incorporated the methods which are more informative about the type and the level of the gear train / kinematic chain. The application of Genetic Algorithms into the Hamming Number Technique is one step into this direction. The proposed methodology can be used for detection of isomorphism for both higher order elements i.e. gear pairs and also for the lower order elements i.e. turning pairs.
