The Department of CSE has started in the year 1980 and has grown up exponentially in size and quality as one of the enriched departments in the two telugu speaking states of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. Currently the department has 459 faculty members with more than 50% of them being doctoral degree holders with vast experience in academia, research and industry which helps impart quality education to the students in various specialized domains of Computer Science and Engineering at both undergraduate and post graduate level including the doctoral programs. The faculty expertise in the department drives the teaching learning process effectively and efficiently for both advanced and slow learners. The 15:1 student to faculty ration helps counsel students personally towards their academic goals and career goals on a regular basis.

All the programs offered by the Dept. of CSE are approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The curriculum is designed through a Fully Flexible Choice-based Credit System (FF-CBCS), which gives a student the flexibility to choose from a wide variety of courses in different domains such as Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Data Science, Cryptography and Network Security, Blockchain, Cloud & Edge Computing, Software Engineering & DevOps, Internet of things, Computer Communications, Full Stack Web Development, Cross Platform Development Technologies, Quantum Computing etc. The programs are designed with immense care through industry connect making them career-ready programs that are industry-vetted, delivered and evaluated. The syllabus & evaluation for the courses is constantly updated on a yearly basis, based on the industry and international University connects.

The department is equipped with state-of the art academic and research laboratories, classrooms with ICT-enabled learning technologies, tutorial rooms for collaborative learning, technology club conference spaces for co-curricular activities and seminar halls with public addressing systems for augmented learning. The 1:1 computer to student ration ensures students have an immense hands-on experience with focus predominantly on their skill development.

The Department has been regarded as DST-FIST sponsored department and faculty in the department provide various consultancy services to public and private sector organizations. The projects worth of crores allow both faculty and students to address societal needs thus making them socially responsible. Under the smart village program, the department of CSE has adopted 11 villages and works continuously through its students in the upliftment of these villages both technically and economically.

The Department also organizes various skill enhancement programs for improving the employability of students. Augmenting the curriculum and to improve the skilling abilities of the student, The department also conducts several placements related and competitive exams-oriented trainings and certification programs in various contemporary domains according to the choice of the students and the needs of the industry. This has resulted in 100% on-campus placements to all eligible and registered students in top MNCs with pay packages as high as 25 Lakhs per annum and admissions with scholarships into post-graduate & post-doctoral programs in top Universities across the globe.
