Engineers'' Day Celebration

extent in the physical world" quoted Er.K.Raja Hareen, Vice President- KLU
bringing to the limelight the importance of engineers in today?s world on the
occasion of 44th Engineers'day celebrations observing the 151st
birth anniversary of
Bharat Ratna Sri Mokshagundam Visweswaraya
organized by KL University student organization [KLUSO] under the able guidance
of Dr.Ch.Hanumanth Rao-HOD of civil department of KL University. This event was
sponsored by Bhavani Tobaccos, Sai Teja builders and Nagarjuna Construction
Company.
This event started at 9 a.m which was blessed with the honorable guest
panel
-Er.K.Satyanarayana,Chancellor - KLU, G.L.Datta, Vice chancellor of KL
University, Chief Guest-Sri K.Nageswara Rao, General Secretary, Integrated
Irrigation Development committee, Guest of Honor-Dr.G.V.Rao, Distinguished
Proffesor,KLU; Dr.K.Rajesekhara Rao-dean student affairs and faculty affairs.
On the idea of "Engineering Preparedness for Disaster Mitigation" a
workshop was organized with a guest lecture from the Chief guest and also a
student idea contest on the same topic was conducted for which a 5000 rupees
cash prize was bagged by B.Vijay Kumar and the 2nd prize of 2000
rupees was bagged by Sai Indrani followed by a third prize of 1000 rupees was
bagged by Chandush and M.Srujana. Students got inspired to reach the zeniths of
engineering excellence with the spirit of patriotism in them which they felt was
the true tribute to the veteran Sri Mokshagundam Visweswaraya who has
lived his whole to abide these sane principles. The event concluded with the
prize winning presentations on the topic disaster mitigation which were based on
mitigating the recent floods in Vijayawada. These presentations were duly
praised by the guests of honor as they were absolutely practical in its every
approach.
