About the Department
The Department
Horticulture is a branch of Agriculture which deals the study of fruits, vegetables The Department of Horticulture, KL college of Agriculture was started in the year 2020. The Department's mission is to prepare our students for horticulture-related careers in science and business. This includes making new discoveries in the plant sciences; promoting the use of plants and food for improved human health and a safe environment; improving the characteristics, quality and availability of horticultural products; and strengthening the competitive position of the world's horticultural industries. Faculty members possess a diverse array of expertise in fruits/pomology, vegetables/olericulture, Floriculture and Spice, Plantation, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants and Post harvest Technology. Apart from course curriculum we provide skill training courses to ensure that the curriculum is well-integrated with practical and hands-on experiences and internships to help students develop problem solving skills in management, design, science and technology.
