Program Educational Objectives(PEOs)

  1. PEO1: Preparing students to understand the knowledge of agriculture science with respect to agronomy and horticulture crops and to develop skills to solve complex problems at farmers field level.
  2. PEO2: To intensify student`s knowledge and skills with different methodologies of soil analysis, crop production, plant protection, processing and seed production (both varieties and hybrids) of various crops.
  3. PEO3: To be well versed with various pests and diseases of crops both field and Horticultural and suggest management strategies.
  4. PEO4: Inculcate and device and manage profitable location-specific farming systems through integration of different enterprises such as agronomy, horticulture, agro-forestry, apiculture, sericulture, mushroom cultivation, vermicomposting, live-stock and fisheries.

Program Outcomes

  1. Agricultural knowledge: To impart the knowledge of agricultural science with respect to agronomy and horticulture crops and to develop skills.
  2. Analysing ability: To be well versed with different methodologies of soil analysis, crop production, plant protection, seed production and processing (both varieties and hybrids) of various crops, biochemical analytic methods and collection of the data through various field and lab experiments.
  3. Identify the solutions and the problem-solving ability: To identify various pest, diseases, nematodes, physiological disorders of horticultural and field-crops; suggest management strategies, which are location specific, environmentally safe and economically sound.
  4. Agricultural research: To be able to aid in agricultural research systems in the areas of crop production, crop protection, crop management, crop improvement, irrigation management, weed management programs involving both conventional,biotechnological and advanced technologies IOT, AI&ML, DS approaches.
  5. Modern tools (equipment / software’s) usage: To be able to effectively use software tools, statistical applications, mathematical packages in techniques of agricultural extension and modern tools of ICTs to effectively handle the data for analysis, interpretation,draw valid conclusions and thereon to transfer technologies for modernizingagriculture.
  6. Ethics: Ability to apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms in agricultural practice committing for organic farming, toxic free farming methods with less environmental footprint.
  7. Environment, sustainability and society at thought and deed: Ability to demonstrate the agricultural solutions to contemporary issues by understanding their impact on societal and environmental contexts, towards sustainable development.
  8. Individual and team work: To develop individual competence, critical and complex problem-solving skills to solve the practical problems in the field of Agriculture and to demonstrate the abilities to work in a team.
  9. Communication: To develop oral and written communication skills to articulate the agriculture technologies acting as liaison between Agricultural technologies and farmer community through effective modern communication approaches.
  10. Project formulation and sourcing of finance: To come out as a good agripreneur, start-up, farm manager/ agribusiness person with thorough knowledge in rural credit flow, banking systems, farm/ enterprise budgeting, project management, marketing, supply chain management, Government policies for agriculture
  11. Life-long learning and upgradation: To be able to device and manage profitable location-specific farming systems through integration of different enterprises such as agronomy, horticulture, livestock and poultry management, agro-forestry, fishery, sericulture, apiculture and mushroom cultivation. Hence, duly managing agri-resources by iteratively and continuously learning and implementation of sustainable agriculture with less environmental footprints.
