About the Department

Agronomy is a branch of agricultural science that focuses on soil management and crop production. Agronomy is one of the main divisions of Agricultural sciences. Department of Agronomy, KL College of Agriculture was started in the year 2020. The main objective of this department is to impart agricultural education and training for human resource development through providing basic knowledge and practical skills in all aspects of Agronomy. It was involved in teaching of agronomy for graduate students. Department has been catering the research needs of various aspects of crop production and also provides solutions to the farm management problems faced by the farming community. It also serves as nodal department for various extension activities for dissemination of resource management strategies to the farming community. The department has mandate to develop cost effective and appropriate production technology for efficient and optimal use of resources in a sustainable manner.
