About the Department
Agricultural Economics department deals with exploring the link between Agriculture and the Economy.It describes how societies use available resources to meet the needs of people. Students can study the agriculture subject from a business context with social welfare in mind which involves where and how products are being produced, consumed, financed, marketed, processed, regulated, researched, taxed, and exported wherever and whenever possible.
Department activities
- To inculcate thorough understanding of the subject and to gain practical knowledge, department conducts educational visits when required
-
Agri-incubation club has been started under the Agricultural Economics department to motivate the students to come up with innovative ideas in the areas of agriculture which helps inculcating Agri-entrepreneurial skills.
- Department has a well-furnished computer lab equipped with LCD projector, where all the practical sessions are conducted.
- In Rural Agricultural Work Experience Program (RAWEP) students engage in gaining hands on experience on farming by visiting farmers fields, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVK), Regional Agricultural Research Stations (RARS).
