CONNECT - Active Student Body of the IoT Department

CONNECT is the vibrant student body that drives academic, technical, and cultural engagement across the IoT Department. It organizes special day celebrations, department fests, and technical events that inspire teamwork and innovation. The team leads participation in major university events like Samyak and Surabhi, ensuring active representation and coordination. CONNECT also supports all departmental activities—including project expos, hackathons, workshops, outreach programs, and motivational lectures by experts. Through these initiatives, CONNECT cultivates leadership, creativity, and a strong sense of community among students.

Contributions and Activities of CONNECT

  • Celebration of Special DaysCONNECT organizes important events such as Teachers' Day, Engineers' Day, and various commemorative occasions, encouraging student participation and promoting professional values.
  • Department Fest & Technical EventsThe Student Body leads the planning and execution of the Department Fest, including technical competitions, project showcases, cultural activities, and innovation-driven programs that strengthen collaboration among students.
  • Participation in University EventsCONNECT represents the IoT Department in major university events such as Samyak and Surabhi, contributing to event coordination, hospitality, technical support, and student engagement.
  • Support for Departmental ActivitiesFrom project expos, hackathons, workshops, guest lectures, to outreach activities involving school students, CONNECT plays a crucial role in organizing, facilitating, and ensuring the success of every departmental initiative.

An Engineer's Day celebration was conducted by the Department of IoT, KL University, bringing together faculty and students for a technical interaction and appreciation session. The event highlighted the significance of engineering contributions and encouraged students to engage in innovative thinking. Faculty members and student coordinators marked the occasion with discussions, motivation, and collective participation.

An inspiring leadership session titled “Inspiring Leadership: Responsibility, Vision & Impact” was held on 27 February 2024 at Jasmine Hall. The talk was delivered by Sri Vilasa Vigraha Dasa, Vice President of Hare Krishna Gokula Kshetram and Projects Coordinator at The Akshaya Patra Foundation. He shared leadership insights drawn from his strong academic background and extensive experience in R&D, volunteer service, and student development.

A seminar on “Role of Internet of Things in Agriculture” was conducted on 7th February 2025 at Jasmine Hall, organized by the Department of IoT in collaboration with IEEE and @CONNECT. The session highlighted how IoT technologies can transform agriculture through improved efficiency, monitoring, and sustainability. Dr. P. Satyanarayana and Dr. B. Balakrishna shared expert insights on emerging IoT solutions and their integration into modern farming systems.

An Alumni Guest Lecture on “Canada Opportunities in Embedded Systems and IoT” was held on 6th August 2025 at Room R004, featuring Mr. Bharadwaja Allemsetti, who discussed career and higher-education prospects in Canada. The session offered valuable insights into industry trends, essential skills, and pathways in Embedded Systems and IoT.
