The M.Tech Construction Technology and Management is a two year course offered by KL University to equip engineers with skills to work as leaders in the construction and infrastructure sector. It is a mixture of civil engineering, project management, sustainable technology, and digital construction. The program is aimed at providing the students with the skills and knowledge to handle complex construction projects, safety standards, cost optimization, smart materials, and current ways of project delivery. It offers a combination of academic, research and industry exposure to graduates as it prepares them to pursue both a managerial and a technical career path.
The course is spanned over four semesters which includes core subjects, electives, lab work, seminars and a final semester project. The structure is a combination of construction engineering, progressive project management, BIM (Building Information Modelling), green building technologies, infrastructure systems and many more.
The program is annually updating its syllabus with digital tools ( BIM, AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera), IoT use in construction, AI in project schedule, and sustainable design technologies. It makes graduates ready for Industry 4.0 and development requirements of Smart City.
You will acquire the in-demand skills in project planning, cost management, sustainable construction, risk analysis, and digital construction technologies. Outside academics, the program provides exposure to industrial projects, research, field visits and internships. Graduates are also assured to gain expertise for leadership positions in construction companies, consultancy firms and government departments.
Applicants should have a B.Tech / B.E. degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent field with at least 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.

Yes, the program mainly targets students having a background in Civil Engineering, as this is based on the fundamental understanding of construction, structures and project management. But you may also be considered provided you possess relevant experience or interest in construction and project management and come from a closely related engineering field, such as Architecture, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering.
Not at all! Before joining this program you do not need to be a software mastermind. You will be taught step by step the fundamental tools that are extensively utilized in the building sector like Primavera, BIM, AutocAD, revit and MS project. These tools are part of the curriculum, and it is taught together with practical sessions and projects.. Upon graduation, you will be assured of how to utilize these digital tools to plan, schedule, and manage the complex construction projects.
