Dr. Buchi N. Nalluri joined KL University in Feb 2022 and is presently serving as Professor in Pharmaceutics and Director for Lifesciences. Previously, he worked at KVSR Siddhartha College of Pharmaceutical sciences (KVSRSCOPS), Vijayawada, from March 2010 to Jan 2022 as Professor and Director for PG Studies and Research in and Professor, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Biotechnology and Director for Siddhartha Pharma Innovation and Incubation Centre. Dr. Nalluri also served as Chairman for IAEC at KVSRSCOPS from 2011-2018. Prior to joining in KVSRCOPS, Dr. Nalluri worked as Postdoctoral fellow/Research Associate at College of Pharmacy, University of Kentucky and as Principal Scientist at Yaupon Therapeutics Inc (now Ceptaris Therapeutics Inc). After obtaining his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Andhra University (2002), Dr. Nalluri worked for one year in GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceutical India Ltd. He also holds a Master’s degree (M. Pharm.) in Pharmaceutics from The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University and a Bachelor’s degree (B.Pharm) in Pharmacy from Gulbarga University.

Dr. Nalluri has won many awards throughout his academic career including UGC Research Fellowship Award (1997), Best Research Paper Award in Pharmaceutics by Indian Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA, Mumbai (2000) and Best PhD Thesis in Pharmaceutical Sciences Award (JJ Rao Gold Medal) by Andhra University (2003) etc.

Dr.Nalluri's research interests include Oral (both Immediate and Controlled Release) and Transdermal Delivery (Transdermal Patches, Microneedle delivery) and Novel Drug delivery Systems like Mouth Dissolving Films, Soft gel capsules etc and Reformulation studies for lifecycle management, Analytical Method development for new and existing molecules by HPLC and HPLC-MSMS etc. Dr.Nalluri’s research work on Transdermal Drug Delivery Systems was received European and US patents. His research work was supported by AICTE, DST and DBT Govt. of India and British Council of India. Dr. Nalluri played a key role in the development of “VALCHLOR” a topical Mechloetamine gel and was approved by FDA for the treatment of CTCL and is available commercially in USA & EU. He has more than 100 national and international publications in peer-reviewed journals to his credit and serves as a reviewer for several indexed and peer reviewed journals
