About Topic: The objective of a smart grid is to use all the available modern technologies. So that the power system works in a reliable, efficient and effective manner. Any smart grid aims at supplying the energy to the customer. In the most transparent way and at the same time helps the customer to minimize the amount of energy bill to be paid by the customer. At the same time utility also gets benefited to meet the energy demand at all times of the day and during all sessions.

The above requirements are meet by a smart grid. By making the customers participate in the system operations. One of the ways the customer helps the system is through demand response. When the customer voluntarily reduces his residential load at the peak hours by getting cost incentives. The smart grid takes also the storage batteries and the plug in hybrid electric vehicles as resources. It also makes full use of smart meter. Which is connected between the utility and the customer.
