The department biotechnology lays emphasis on scholarly research as we
are blessed with an abundant pool of faculty with PhD and post-doctoral degrees,
along with rich academic and the industry experience. Our
faculty could achieve a grab Rs.3 Crore (30million) worth research grants from
DBT, DST, UGC and ICMR. The department also has women scientists working
under DST to work on biofuels, biomedical research, genomics and
proteomics, bioinformatics and food biotechnology.
