Academics and achievements
1. The department of Civil Engineering, K L University is ISO certified and accredited for two times by NBA, and NAAC with "A" Grade and CGPA (3.76 / 4.00)
2. The department has a track record of generating highest revenue in terms of Consultancy at K L University and also providing testing services for expansion of its infrastructure.
3. Consistent in providing 100% placements for consecutive six years in construction companies such like L&T, HCC, TECHNIP, GMR, SP, ESSAR, CCCL, TCE, etc. along with other IT & Infra related companies and R&D organizations
4. B. Tech Civil Engineering Students won the prestigious "Yuva Ratna Award" in the year 2011 and 2009 respectively at a national level organized by Aditya Birla Group's "Birla White".
5. The entire faculty of the department are well qualified in their PG and/or Ph D from reputed Universities, where more than 50% of them are from IITs with M-Tech as a minimum qualification
6. More than 50 research papers were published by faculty of the Department in reputed and refereed International / National Journals, and also submitted innovative projects to the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India in the last two years
7. Advanced courses are implemented in the department maintaining IIT standards in the curriculum
8. International students from neighboring countries like Bhutan, Nepal, etc. are pursuing their B-Tech in Civil Engineering at K L University.

Conferences:
1. A Two day National Conference PEPSCON2015 was organized on 6th and 7th march 2015 at 9 am to 5pm in peacock hall.

| 1. A workshop on ANSYS software has been organized by the Department of Civil Engineering on 20th December 2014. The workshop was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. T. D. Guneswara Rao, Assoc Professor, NIT Warangal, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. A. V. S. Prasad, K.L University and Dr. K. Ramesh, Director School of Civil & Mechanical sciences, HOD-CE, Dr. CH Hanumantha Rao Prof, Dean Examination and Evaluation, Dr. C. Ravi Kumar Reddy Professor, Department of Civil Engineering. The main aim of the workshop was to provide the Principles and concepts involved in SSI and also to give hands on training for application of ANSYS software to SSI. 200 students participated in the workshop |

2. On 22nd August, 2014 the first event of Civil engineers association took place on the name of CEA inauguration which is an event that indicates the inauguration of a new student association of the academic year 2014-2015 and the event took place in the C.V.Raman seminar hall. The guest of honour are SR.A.Rajeswara Rao, Director, S R Associates Vijayawada and Dr.G. Shyam Prasad, Chairman, Lions club Vijayawada. The other guest Dr.G.Shyam Prasad who is the present chairman of the Lions Club Vijayawada spoke on Human values to be followed in the society. It is an aspiring and thought provoking speech which went on for 20min.
3. Three days certificate course on advance structural design on stadd pro conducted on 13th feb 2015 to 15th feb 2015 at 9a.m to 5 p.m in jasmine hall.The Guest Honour are D. Anand Kumar reddy,Managing director Engineers CAAD center Hyderabad.
4. PEPSCON 2015-precaste concrete structures and pre engineered fabricated structures of various types constructions was conducted on 6th march 2015 at 9am to 5pm in peacock hall. The guest of honour are P.Surya Prakash,President pre engineered society india .
Faculty Outreach
1. Dr. A Sivasankar has delivered a guest lecture on Remote Sensing at Institution of Engineers INDIA (IEI) Vijayawada local chapter on GIS day NOV 2014.
2. Dr. C. Ravi Kumar Reddy presented a paper on "Effect of loss of contact on bending movement and contact pressure of a beam on elastic foundation", National conference on RRACE UCE Osmania University, NOV 2014
3. Dr. C. Ravi Kumar Reddy presented a paper on "Study of replacement of fine aggregate by fine glass pieces", National Conference on RRACE – 14, Osmania University, NOV2014.
Student Association Activities:
1. Department of Civil Engineering has organized a Drawing competition as a Student Association activity under the Civil Engineering Association banner.
Department of Civil Engineering has organized a Drawing competition as a Student Association activity under the Civil Engineering Association banner. The event was conducted on 04/03/2015 from 2:10p.m-5:10p.m in M207. In this event third, fourth year students of B.Tech., first year M.Tech. Students have participated.
The theme for the drawing competition was given as 'CIVIL ENGINEERING LOGO'.46 students have participated in this event to make it success. Some of the students have used colour pencils to complete their drawing and some have used only pencils.
The winner of the drawing competition is J.Saibabu I/II M.tech. CTM.The winner was selected by Dr.K.Ramesh, Head of Civil Engineering Department. At the end of the competition the creativity in the students was brought out.

Department of Civil Engineering has organized a Quiz competition as a Student Association activity under the Civil Engineering Association banner. The event was conducted on 20/2/2015 from 3:10p.m-5:10p.m in M207. In this event third, fourth year students of B.Tech.,first year M.Tech. students have participated. Initially the students have undergone the screening test which consists of 20 aptitude questions.Among the 41 registered students 16 students were selected and formed into four groups which consist of four students each.The groups are formed in such a way that each group consist of one M.Tech.student ,one fourth year B.Tech. student, two third year B.Tech. student.
In the quiz competition three rounds were conducted namely,Structural Engineering,Geo-Technical Engineering, General Knowledge.
The Winners of the Quiz were announced by Dr.K.Ramesh,Head of Civil Engineering Department in the presence of Mr.S.Kanakambara Rao,Incharge HOD,Dept.of Civil, Dr.C.Ravi Kumar Reddy,Prof,Dept. of Civil.
