The following courses were introduced to enhance the employability and the entrepreneurial skills of the students

• Advanced Java.

• Interior Designing

• Fashion Designing

Promotional activities are being done through KLU TV.

INAUGURATION

Prof. Bruce Niswander, Director, Economic Development Initiatives, South-South News, New York City inaugurated Entrepreneurship Development Centre at K L University on 30th July, 2013, He had Deans,HODs, Research Group heads during his visit. He also visited the Labs and Research centers in Department of Bio-technology and gave a presentation to all II and III year B.Tech Students.


Events:

Motivation Programme-EDI, Bangalore:

Motivation programme was organized by KLU IIE on 11-04-2015 at Sun Flower Hall to inculcate the entrepreneurial culture among the students. The resource person Mr.Yeshaswi Nag, Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Bangalore motivated the participants by highlighting the success stories of successful entrepreneurs like Red Bus .Nearly 60 students participated in the motivation programme.The resource person highlighted the importance of inculcating entrepreneurship education in colleges and Universities. He explained about the modules to be covered under the One Year Diploma course-Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Business Management (DEBM).

One Day Workshop was organized by KLU IIE on 11—03-2015 for the budding entrepreneurs who are the members of KLU IIE participated in the Startup events organized by KLU IIE.The resource person Mr.Sudarshan, Consultant of NSIC, Hyderabad bestowed one presentation on the different roles and functions of NSIC in training and Incubation activities. The resource person explained about the various business opportunities available in manufacturing sector. Nearly 150 students participated in the workshop. Hon'ble Vice Chancellor explained about the importance of entrepreneurship for enhancing the lifestyle of the students Director Dr. Y. P. Obulesh highlighted various services to be offered by KLU for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship activities.

Visit to Start up Village Vizag on 09.03.2015

A team of 5 students and 3 faculties visited the start up village at Vishakhapatnam on 09—03-2015.The faculty members and the students interacted with the authorities concerned about the role of A.P Government and the Start up Village in fostering the entrepreneurship in Andhra Pradesh. The Students interacted about the different services bestowed by the Start up Village and the support given by them to the students Start ups.The students acquainted with the details such as idea generation, developing the idea, Business Plan preparation,Pitching and Incubation process etc.
Budding Entrepreneurs Interactive Meet on 05.03.2015

Budding Entrepreneurs Interactive Meet was organized by KLU IIE to interact with the student members of KLU IIE on 05-03-2015 at Peacock Hall. Nearly 150 students participated in this programme. Hon,ble Vice President Mr. Raja Harin addressed to the student members of KLU IIE .The Vice President explained about the role of KL University and the KLU Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Centre in inculcating the entrepreneurial culture amidst the students and highlighted the various services to be bestowed by the management in nurturing the students into competent entrepreneurs in the years to come.Hon'ble Vice Chancellor explained about the traits and requisites of an entrepreneur in starting a business and developing the same.

Employable Skills Orientation Programmes on 04.02.2015

Employable Skill Development Programme was conducted for Civil Engineering students in Jasmine Hall. Ms.Ayisa Begum, CEO of Lakhotia Fashion Institute and Interior Designing; Hyderabad highlighted the scopes of pursuing Fashion Designing and Interior Designing. Ten students bestowed their willingness to pursue the Interior Designing Course from Civil Engineering Department. The Resource person Mr. Bala, C.E,O CADD centre ,Guntur explained about the various scopes of learning various software and the Entrepreneurial opportunities in Civil Engineering sector. Nearly 120 students participated in this interactive session. An Orientation Programme was organized on 04-02-2015 between 4 pm to 5.30 p.m. Nearly 100 students attended the Orientation Programme and interacted with the resource persons about the different scopes of learning these short term courses.
KL University Collaboration with EDI Ahmadabad.

KLU IIE offers One Year Diploma Course in Entrepreneurship and Business Management (DEBM).Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been initiated between KL University and EDI, Ahmadabad on nominating KL University as one of the Nodal Centres to offer the One Year Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Business Management (DEBM).The syllabus, courseware will be given by EDI, Ahmadabad. As a Nodal Centre KL University can conduct the One Year Diploma as Correspondence course both for KL University students and the outsiders. Classes will be conducted in university campus and examination will be conducted in university campus.EDI awards the certificate for students complete the course successfully.

KL University and National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN):

Memorandum of Understanding has been initiated between KL University and National Entrepreneurship Network, a Non-Profit Organization which fosters the entrepreneurship culture among the students of many colleges and Universities by consistent training and On-line evaluation system. KL University obtains the different services such training, seminars, workshops, conferences, creating an Eco-System for Business Incubation process, Faculties and students motivation programmes, Mentoring, Networking with many Angel Investors and Venture Capitalists in India and other Countries. These services are rendered on payment of membership fees on yearly basis. National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) monitors the effectiveness of operations executed in Centre of Innovation, Centre of Incubation and Centre of Entrepreneurship consistently through their Online Evaluation system. In case of discrepancies they guide and streamline the operations to be executed in these 3 areas i.e. Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship.

Motivation programme for TIMESPRO-MBA students:

KLU EDC organized a motivation programme for TIMESPRO-MBA students to highlight the importance of Entrepreneurship Development in enhancing their career growth. The students were motivated to submit their business ideas. The motivation class was handled by Mr.K.Durairaj Coordinator, KLU IIE.

Start-up weekend-KLU-NASSCOM:

KL University organized a Start-up weekend programme on 30th, 31st January and 1st Feb-2015 in association with NASSCOM at Peacock Hall. Nearly 250 students participated in the programme.Seventy students presented their business ideas and after evaluation by experts 20 business ideas have been selected for incubation at KLU Incubation Centre.
