KL UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S FORUM PRESENTS

FEM FLARE ON 11TH APRIL 2015

A Woman is somebody who claims she isn't afraid of anything, looking forward to challenges each day. Women of strength show courage in the midst of fear, declaring triumph through faith and courage. To showcase this, KL University Women's Forum successfully conducted Saheli's FEM FLARE – An Intercollegiate Female Festival on Saturday 11th April – 2015 with the theme "Women Uniting for Swachh Bharath- We Can.. We Shall".

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a campaign initiated by the PM of India Sri Narendrabhai Modi on Gandhi Jayanti last year. The underlying reason for this campaign is to fulfil the vision of Mahatma Gandhi for a clean India. The PM wants India to be clean in every way – be it home, campus, streets and govt offices – not only from dirt but also from corruption. Mahatma Gandhi called upon the people to make India clean. But, unfortunately, India has remained filthy and uninhabitable even after 67 years of Independence.

Making our Nations dream come true is only possible if each and every person living in India would understand this campaign as well as one's own responsibility to make it a successful mission. KLU Women's forum is always active in doing different social service activities. As the need of the hour today is to promote and educate the younger people about swachh bharath, the theme for this year's Fem flare was taken as "Women Uniting for Swachh Bharath- We Can.. We Shall" .

As the educated woman, it is not just sufficient if we know about this mission, we should also find the ways and means to achieve this. In view of this paper, poster, essay writing and elocution competitions were conducted on the topic "Overcoming Social, Economical and Technical barriers in promoting Swachh Bharat ".
