‘Nothing moves without Mechanical Engineers’

Established in1980, the Mechanical Engineering is one of the most versatile and broadest fields of engineering. The key areas of Mechanical Engineering like ‘Product Design’, ‘Smart Manufacturing & Automation’ and ‘Automobile Electronics’ have opened vast opportunities in industries allied to Automobiles, Aerospace, Renewable Energy, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas Production and Subsea technologies in renowned MNC’s and Government companies. Especially, with emerging growth in automation, along with boys, girl students also find larger and better scope in Mechanical engineering sector.

The Mechanical Engineering department programs are designed and developed in consultation with industry experts from organisations such as Hyundai R&D, Robert Bosch, Ashok Leyland, National Instruments, Cyient Technologies, HAL as well as professional bodies like American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Society for Automotive Engineers (SAE), mapping with NASSCOM Future skills, Qualification packs of Sector Skills Councils (SSC's) of NSDC, Govt of India.

Students of Mechanical Engineering get to learn and gain hands-on experience in areas such as Product Design, Smart Manufacturing, Thermal and fluid Energy systems, Robotics & Mechatronics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Signal Analysis & Processing. The courses in these areas, being dealt in practical and design perspective, equip students with the knowledge and expertise to fit into the evolving needs of the industries and to sustain in the job market in this era of automation.

Students are provided with an opportunity to acquire and practice various skillsets of Industry 4.0 like IIOT, soft computing, Machine Learning through domains like JAVA, Python and R-Programming, which offers an edge while competing for job opportunities with other Engineering stream graduates either in Core or IT sector companies

Being trained in the full-fledged Design and Fabrication facility (Fab Lab, Central Fabrication Unit - PIT), students can design and build their own prototype models and participate in internationally recognized Professional body competitions like; Asian E-Bike Challenge, Hybrid Vehicle Challenge, Go Karting, HPVC, Under Water Vehicle Challenge, Quad Bike, M-Baja, E-Baja and SUPRA etc., organized by various.
