KL University continues to make strong and positive progress toward Sustainable Development Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals by actively expanding collaborations with international organisations, global industries, public institutions and civil society organisations (CSOs). These partnerships reflect the university’s commitment to strengthening global macroeconomic stability, promoting policy coherence for sustainable development and respecting each country’s policy space. Through Metric 1, the university has successfully collaborated with numerous global, industry and government organisations, and plans to further expand such partnerships to align with SDG-focused networks. These actions reinforce KL University’s role in advancing global partnership for sustainable development through knowledge exchange, technology cooperation and financial collaboration. With a strong emphasis on universal partnership, the university continuously creates opportunities for students and faculty to engage in initiatives that enhance international cooperation and support sustainable development across regions. KL University has produced a significant number of research publications highlighting strategies, case studies, and outcomes of SDG-17 partnerships.

Strengthening Capacity-Building, Data Systems and Statistical Capabilities

KL University has adopted a proactive and positive approach to building strong capacity for SDG implementation. Through Metric 2, the university has significantly increased the number and diversity of SDG capacity-building workshops, empowering students, faculty and staff with the skills and tools needed for sustainable development. The institution continues to expand these workshops to support robust knowledge development and institutional readiness. Through Metric 5, KL University is also establishing advanced mechanisms for measuring and reporting its SDG contributions using annual reports, dashboards and digital monitoring frameworks, which enhance national statistics availability, improve statistical capacity and contribute to data-driven decision-making aligned with international standards. These actions demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting countries in strengthening their statistical systems, a key component emphasised in SDG 17. Mobilising Financial Resources and Promoting Sustainable Investments

KL University is advancing strongly in mobilising additional financial resources for development by allocating dedicated budgets and infrastructure for SDG-related research and innovation projects. Metric 3 has been positively addressed, with the university providing funds, facilities and research support, and planning to double or triple these allocations to further scale SDG-focused initiatives. These actions align with global priorities such as improving tax and other revenue collection, strengthening debt sustainability awareness and supporting financial systems that enhance investment promotion for LDCs. KL University also reinforces the importance of the ODA commitment by developed countries through academic discussions and community awareness programmes, contributing positively to future research and understanding of international development financing.

Engaging in Regional and National Partnerships and the Multilateral System

KL University actively participates in regional and national SDG forums through Metric 4 and is committed to expanding such participation to strengthen its contributions to SDG dialogues. These engagements support the principles of the multilateral trading system under the WTO and enhance awareness of global issues such as exports of developing countries and the importance of duty-free market access for LDCs. By fostering partnerships with public, private and CSO stakeholders, the university supports global partnership for sustainable development and strengthens multi-sectoral collaboration. These positive engagements enhance knowledge sharing, collaborative research and the promotion of sustainable development policies at national and global levels. Technology Access, Digital Inclusion and Transfer of Technologies

KL University is strongly committed to advancing technology-driven development by expanding access to technology and supporting the transfer of technologies through innovation centres, research clusters and international collaborations. Through enhanced digital infrastructure and the increased use of the Internet across campus, the university promotes digital inclusion and enables world-class research collaboration, virtual learning and innovation. These initiatives directly support SDG 17 priorities related to improving technological capabilities and bridging digital divides, especially within developing regions. KL University’s partnerships with global technology providers ensure that students and researchers benefit from cutting-edge technology access that empowers sustainable development.

Strengthening Community Engagement Through SDG Events and Campaigns

KL University has developed a full-year calendar of SDG-themed events and campaigns through Metric 7, ensuring continuous engagement and awareness-building among the university community. These events promote collaborative action, community participation and deeper understanding of sustainability principles. The university has also integrated SDG targets into its long-term strategies through Metric 8, embedding SDGs into its strategic and operational plans with measurable outcomes to ensure impactful and sustainable implementation. Through enhanced private sector engagement under Metric 6, the university fosters SDG-aligned innovation, internships, research partnerships and industry collaborations that support long-term sustainable development. The outcomes and learnings from SDG events, campaigns, and community engagement programs are documented in multiple SDG-17 publications.
