Instrument-Related FAQs:

1. Do I need to submit the samples and application form separately if multiple analysis is required?
    Yes! Please submit samples along with duly filled Request Form separately for each analysis technique if multiple analysis is needed.

2. What is the quantity of samples I need to submit for analysis?
    The quantity of samples that need to be submitted is given along with details of the instrument.

3. Can I get the samples back after analysis?
    Yes! The samples may be returned after analysis at your request. Mention the same at the time of sample submission and pay the additional postal charge if you need to get the sample via Post.

4. Do I need to deliver the sample personally?
    It is not mandatory to deliver the sample personally. You can send the sample via Post/ Courier along with duly filled Request forms.

5. Can I get my analysis result over E-mail?
    Yes! Please mention your E-mail address in the field provided in the Sample Request Form.

6. How much time would be taken for the analysis to be conducted after providing the filled Request Forms?
    In CIF we follow the ‘First Come- First Serve’ queue system. So that the time taken for analysis will be according to your position in the queue. You can get this information by intimating with CIS.

General queries:

1. How do I know about the working status of the Instruments at CIF?
    The Working Status of each Instrument is updated on our website under the Facilities tab. By logging in, you can get the status as well as the detailed specifications of the instruments.

2. Is there any chance to study the working of instruments at CIS?
    CIF periodically conducts Seminars and Workshops handled by experts on various instruments. You can join these platforms to make use of the facilities at CIF.

3. Can I use the results for some advertisement purposes?
    No! Analysis results from CIF cannot be used for any Advertisement purposes.

4. Can I use the results for some Legal proceedings?
    No! Analysis results from CIF cannot be used for any legal proceedings.

5. Do I need to acknowledge CIF in my Thesis and Publications?
    It is mandatory to acknowledge CIF in your Thesis and Publications if you have utilized any of the facilities at CIF.

The University central Instrumentation Center is happy to analyse samples and provide the technical guidance with the specific terms and conditions in a cost-effective way.

  • The instrument will be operated by a dedicated Faculty/Researcher/Technician only
  • Samples and reports are to be collected within one week after the completion of work
  • The data is provided for research/development purposes only, and cannot be used as certificates in legal disputes
  • Radio-active material, unstable, explosive compounds will not be accepted for analysis
  • Prior indentation with the Head/coordinator is mandatory for availing the instrument facility
  • Confirmed slot date can be changed or cancelled due to unavailability of the technician or inevitable maintenance issues.
