The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) recently initiated new program in the "Emerging Frontiers in Biotechnology". This program will have two verticals namely Biomedical Sciences and Biological Sciences

• Biomedical Sciences vertical includes those science disciplines whose primary focus is the biology of human health & disease, and ranges from the generic study of biomedical sciences and human biology to more specialized subject areas such as vaccines & diagnostics, human infectious and chronic diseases biology, human genetics & genomics, technological Interventions in Healthcare and public health nutrition etc. 
  
  
• Biological Science vertical will cover Agriculture Biotechnology, Animal Biotechnology, Bio-energy & Bio-resources and all other areas which are not covered under Biomedical Sciences vertical.

The initiative has been taken with the aim of maximizing the efficiency of the Department's PI-driven R&D projects having budgetary provision up to Rs. 1 crore

Proposal Submission:  Investigator driven proposals would be accepted twice a year in 3 months window (January-March, and July-September) only through the DBT eProMIS Web Portal. Find attached file of proposal call by DBT.
