Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders Research Program-call for proposals

Dear Faculty:

The Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders Research Program ? Consortium Award from the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) supports the establishment of a Consortium whose purpose is to identify, evaluate, and advance pharmacotherapies for alcohol, opioid, and other substance use disorders, with an emphasis on other co-occurring mental health conditions, through rigorous, collaborative research efforts that translate basic knowledge and early-stage clinical products into evidence-based treatments. The program is open to researchers in the USA and worldwide, including both academic institutions and biotech companies.

With the goals to treat alcohol and other substance use disorders, and to improve treatment adherence, prevent relapse and reduce risk of misuse, the applications submitted to the FY24 ASUDRP must address the following focus areas:
  • New medication targets
  • Novel medications
  • Re-purposed medications
  • Vaccines and other immunotherapies
  • Drug-drug combinations
  • More potent, longer-acting formulations to counteract opioid (including fentanyl and its analogs) overdose
The award provides up to 4 million USD for up to 5 years. Indirect costs may be covered.
