AI education rooted in culture and integrity: Recommendations for the responsible use of AI in Asia-Pacific higher education
Clarivate has released a new white paper that provides an overview of AI policy and AI education in the Asia-Pacific region, based on an international comparative study across seven countries and regions. It summarizes key challenges and recommendations for the responsible use of AI in higher education.
The report analyzes AI related policies, educational guidelines, research trends, and teaching practices across Mainland China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan. It identifies shared challenges in AI education while considering differences in cultural and linguistic contexts.
Based on these findings, the white paper presents six recommendations for higher education institutions and policymakers, addressing issues such as differing perceptions of AI-related risks across disciplines and generations, language bias inherent in AI models, and delays in faculty development and interdisciplinary collaboration.
