Centre for Extension Activities (CEA) in association with Department of Civil Engineering & Construction Department, K L Deemed to be University organized a one day training program to masons on ?GOOD CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES? at K L Deemed to be University on 19th January 2012.

Sri Mangapathi Rao, Resource Faculty from National Academy of Construction, Guntur facilitated the masons on human attitudes, healthy practices at Work Sites, Common mistakes done in concrete mixing, Impurities in metals and sand, quality of the cement,  Rod bending, centering, safety aspects in construction.

Sri N. Srikanth, Managing Partner of Vyshnavi Infrastructure was the Chef Guest for the inaugural function. He explained the need of improving skills among Building construction workers and shortage of availability of skilled work force. 

Prof. A. Sri Hari Prasad, Director (C E A), K L Deemed to be University was the Guest of Honor who addressed the participants about the establishment of Center for Extension Activities at K L Deemed to be University for Organizing various Programs related to skilled development, welfare, safety and Health

Dr. Ch. Hanumantha Rao, Professor & Head, Department of Civil Engineering addressed the masons on how several industrialists have started their career as worker and later became a successful entrepreneur. He also covered qualities required to reach goals in life and stressed on savings, pension schemes, Health Insurances, support from K L Deemed to be University for such welfare schemes.

Masons were asked questions on awareness at the end of the program and they were awarded with gifts for their answers.

Er. Koneru Raja Harin, Vice President  ? KLEF explained the benefits of such programs and conveyed that K L Deemed to be University is planning to organize such programs in future and also impart training programs.

The program was concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. P. Vijay Kumar, Head, Department of Construction, K L Deemed to be University.
