A Brief Report on SURABHI-2013

This year cultural festival was conducted on 24th and 25th February 2012 in K.L. University. Following committees were formed to take care of various works.

Chief guest, Press, Video & Photography, Banners, Transport, Discipline, Stage Decoration, Art Exhibition, Cultural Events, Literary Events, Spot Events, Lighting & Sound System, Seating Arrangements, Invitation Cards printing & distribution, Sports Prizes, Academic & Cultural Prizes, Refreshments, FETE stalls and Maintenance.

This time "SURABHI-2012" web page was designed and kept on our website www.kluniversity.in/surabhi . It shows the details of various events viz., cultural events, literary events, spot events, art exhibition etc. Links were provided for the interested to students to participate in various events and also to act as organizers for various events. A group of students were identified and trained to promote SURABHI in all the class rooms. Tremendous number of registrations [more than 6000] were received online.

This year SURABHI was started with the theme SAMAJ, on 21st Feb 2012, by imprinting hands in white paint on a black cloth, received a tremendous response in making better society. Students have taken pledge: "to be the change they wish to see in the society". On 22nd Feb 2012, GREENLIGHT was started, where the students had taken oath: "to plant more trees, to avoid usage of plastic, save power, stop pollution and save mother earth", by signing on a banner.

9:30 am - Inauguration at Peacock Hall

10:30 am - Inauguration of FETE stalls at Cricket Ground

10:45 am - Inauguration of Art Exhibition at Indoor Stadium

Apart from Cultural Events, Literary Events, Spot Events, Art Exhibition and FETE Stalls, following Guest Lectures & Workshops were organized and over 500 students got benefited.

1) Right to Information Act by Mr.Srinivas, Secretary, RTI Publicity, Hyderabad.

2) Social Entrepreneurship by Mr.A.Subhash Chandra, Secretary, National Social Entrepreneurship Forum, Hyderabad.

3) Chocolate Making by Ms.Leena Gurunani, Kushboo Crockery, Guntur.

4) Graphology by Ms.N.Premalatha, Brain Skill Academy, Guntur.

On 6th March 2012, prizes were distributed to the winners & runners of cultural events, literary events, spot events, art exhibition and yoga performers.

All the activities from the inauguration of theme SAMAJ, news was covered in various leading news papers viz., Hindu, Sakshi, Enadu, Deccan Chronicle, Andhra Bhoomi, Andhra Jyothi, Vartha, Andhra Prabha and Surya in both Vijayawada and Guntur regions. News was also covered in electronic media viz., ETV2, TV5, NTV, Mahaa TV, Studio N, Siti Channel and C TV.
