KL Women’s Forum Celebrations - 2013
KL women's forum celebrations took place on 10th March 2012 in a big way with fun, engaging and thought provoking messages. The entire day was busy with different events. The day started with a workshop by VLCC on make over with enthusiastic participation by girls. The afternoon session was very lively with many competitions conducted for girls, female faculty and staff. Competitions such as 5 minute presentation on successful women, rangoli, movie making, mehendi, fashion show, one minute games, group games, etc. were conducted with tremendous response.
The evening was ecstatic with festive atmosphere. The formal function started with a welcome note by Dr.V.Rama Devi, President, KL Women's forum. Mrs.S.V.N.L. Lalitha, Women's forum convener presented a report on the activities conducted by the forum.
Er. K.Sathyanarayana, Hon'ble Chancellor addressed the gathering extending full support for the development of the students. Smt.K.Siva Kanchana Latha, has been the driving force for KL women's forum activities and extending full support for the activities of women's forum. In her address, she expressed her happiness for the predominance of the presence of women which is felt in all walks of life, in institutions of education, politics, finance, engineering, etc. She advised the younger generation to take an active lead role and prove themselves wherever they are and contribute to the upliftment of the women folk.
Dr.G.L.Datta, Hon'ble Vice-chancellor of the university highlighted the importance of women's forum as a platform to unleash the talents of girls. The function was illuminated by prominent personalities in different sectors. Dr.Geeta Kathpalia, Director (Scientist - F), Head (Innovation & IPR), Ministry of Communication & Information technology, New Delhi was the chief guest of the function.
The guests of honour include Mrs. Ch.Vidya, Former MP, President, Vasavya Mahila Mandali, Vijayawada and Smt. G. Radha Rani, Managing director, RR Sports, Vijayawada. The guests addressed the women folk of the university and appreciated the encouragement given to the development of the girl students. The cultural night saw enthusiastic participation of vibrant girls in dances, skits, fashion show, etc. It was glittering with beautiful, energetic and bubbling girls. The function ended with vote of thanks by Mrs. M.Sridevi, Coordinator, KL Women's forum.
