KL Inks MoU with University of the Virgin Islands (UVI)

KL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI), USA at KL's Hyderabad office on December 8, 2015.
The MoU was signed by Sri.Koneru Satyanarayana, President, KL and Prof.Camile McKayle, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, UVI.
Mr.Havish Koneru, Vice President and Mr.Jayadev GAG, Adviser too represented KL at the meeting, while the visiting UVI's delegation included Prof.James Maddirala, Vice Provost for Global Engagement, Graduate Studies and Academic Affairs and Dr. Robert C. Stolz, Chair, Department of Mathematics.
Dr.Raja Ramanna DRDO Distinguished Fellow Prof.Iyyanki V Muralikrishna who facilitated the dialogue and the MoU between the two Universities too attended the MoU ceremony.
Dr.LSS Reddy, Vice Chancellor, Dr.Kishore Babu, Chief, MBA department and Director of International Relations,Dr.N.Venkatram, Dean Academic, Dr.T.Uma Maheshwara Rao, Registrar, and Dr. AVS Kamesh, MBA Department, who all contributed to the discussions leading up to the MoU, could not attend the MoU event owing to prior commitments on the campus.
Dr.Dion Gouws, Assistant Dean, School of Business and Chair, Accounting and Finance at the UVI, visited KL in November 2105 and has played an anchor role in launching, and setting a direction for, a sustainable relationship between the two universities paving the way to the current MoU.
The MoU constitutes a broad agreement and is not limited to any specific academic program or initiative. An immediate motivator for the MoU is to enable the UVI design and integrate curricula of the following globally recognized US accounting and financial certification programs into KL's B Com (Hon), M Com (Professional), andMBA (Finance and Accounting) programs:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
The broad nature of the MoU allows for the partnership to expand beyond the ongoing cooperation over the US accounting and financial certification programs to several other programs and initiatives in future.
