National Business & Service Excellence Award 2016 to KL-CIIE.

KL's Center for Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) was extended the National Business and Service Excellence Award 2016.
The Award, which is in recognition of CIIE's achievement, innovation, and leadership, was presented in the Most Promising and Innovative Entrepreneurship Center category.
The Award was received by Mr.Raja Harin, Vice President (Services & Operations), KL at a glittering ceremony at Hotel Crown Plaza Today, New Delhi on Sunday, June 26, 2016.

National Business & Service Excellence Award 2016
Instituted in 2015, the National Business and Service Excellence Awards
are organized each year by India's leading media and marketing group Praxis
Media in association with Business Synergy, India's well reputed
online business and services resource, and Global Brands Network, a
confederation of most valuable brands worldwide.
The Awards are organized to recognize and celebrate those Achievers, Innovators, and Leaders of India's business and services sector that have maximized their potential and mastered the art of delivering excellent products and services.
This year, the Awards were presented to more than 50 winners at 5 different levels. The elaborate, exacting, and meticulous selection process included inviting nominations from potential nominees, performing background research and surveys, collating feedback and opinions, and finally using input from all of these sources to evaluate nominees on a scale of pre-determined parameters by an independent jury.
The evaluation parameters included Market Presence & Competition, Growth & Profitability, Quality & Operational Excellence, Financial & Business Acumen, Innovation, Ingenuity and Imagination, Sustainability & Environmental Consideration, Job & Impact Potential, Customer & Industry Feedback, Use of Technology, Efforts for Risk & Setback Mitigation, and Previous Awards & Achievements.
About CIIE
Set up in 2014, and led by the firm belief that every idea has a great
potential and every aspiring entrepreneur has the potential to realize their
dream, CIIE provides enthusiastic students and alumni a platform to generate,
develop, and commercialize ideas.
CIIE's mission is to encourage and promote entrepreneurship by students and young alumni by fostering innovation and offering incubation support. It comprises 3 sub-centers:
- Centre for Innovation
- Centre for Incubation
- Centre for Entrepreneurship
CIIE has to date either incubated or supported 22 startups in the technology and services space. Dr.K.Raja Shekhar, who is also a computer science professor at KL College of Engineering (KL-CE), is Director of CIIE, while Mr.Durai Raj is its Operations Head.

In the last three years (2012-15), KL faculty published over 2600 papers in national and international conferences and journals. Over 80 sponsored projects worth Rs.18-crore from the government and industry are currently being carried out at KL.
