KL Visionary Award to Dr. Akhilesh Gupta, SERB Advisor
KL Deemed University Visionary Award was presented to Dr. Akhilesh Gupta, former UGC Secretary and Serb Advisor, on Wednesday. Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. K. Rajasekhara Rao, Pro Chancellor Dr. KS. Jagannath Rao, Registrar Dr. K. Subbar Rao attended the award ceremony held at the varsity as chief guests and presented the KL Visionary Award to Dr. Akhilesh Gupta. Speaking on the occasion, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. K. Rajasekhara Rao said that visionary awards are being given from this year onwards for the services provided in terms of science, socially and at national and international levels across the country. They said that they have presented this visionary award to Dr. Akhilesh Gupta for his hard work for the development of science for the last 40 years. Gupta, who previously served as the Secretary of the UGC, is currently working as an advisor to the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB). Dr. Akhilesh Gupta said that he was happy to receive the KL Visionary Award. He said that special research should be done for new inventions in the country. He explained to the students about the development of research in India. Varsity Vice Chancellor Dr. G. Pardhasaradivarma, Pro Chancellor Dr. KS. Jagannath Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. AVS. Prasad, Registrar Dr. K. Subbarao, Head of Student Welfare Department Dr. K. S. Prasad, Science College Principal Dr. K. Subrahmanyam, Addl. Dean R&D Dr. BTP Madhav, Dean of Faculty Dr. V. Srikanth, Additional Dean of Faculty Dr. PV Chalapati and others were present.
