Vaddeswaram: Speaking at the National Unity Day celebrations, Honourable High Court Special Public Prosecutor, Shri Mannava Shravan Kumar, emphasised the importance of unity and equality. He urged that all citizens, regardless of caste, creed, religion, language, or region, should embrace their shared identity as Indians. "Only when we live with a unified identity, free from divisions, can India advance on the path to becoming a developed nation," said Shri Shravan Kumar, who currently serves as Special Public Prosecutor (CBI) at the Honourable High Court.
The event, organised by the BA (IAS) Department at KLEF University to commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel?s birth anniversary, was celebrated with great fervour.
As the chief guest, Shri Shravan Kumar underscored the idea that, first and foremost, we are all humans, and as Indians, youth should instill a sense of unity. He stressed that only when the youth of India adopt a broad perspective, allowing no room for division, can the nation guide the world toward peace and progress.
Dean of the MHS Department, Prof. M. Kishore Babu, the special guest, quoted the Ramayana, "Mother and motherland are greater than heaven itself." He reminded attendees that true homage to India comes from unity and fulfilling one's duty to the motherland. He highlighted that it is only by living up to the sacrifices made by leaders like Patel that we can give their hard work and legacy true meaning.
Dr. B. Sivanagaiah, Head of the BA (IAS) Department, honoured Sardar Patel?s pioneering role as India?s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. Dr. Sivanagaiah recounted Patel?s achievements, including his role in unifying over 560 princely states and his impact on the Indian Civil Services, transforming the British Imperial Civil Service into the Indian Civil Services to serve the country.
He added that the BA (IAS) Department is committed to nurturing informed citizens and future leaders. By organising events such as National Unity Day and raising awareness on international observances like Earth Day and Water Day, the department consistently fulfils its social responsibility beyond mere preparation for competitive exams.
Students, future policymakers themselves, actively participated in the celebrations, showcasing placards highlighting the importance of National Unity Day. Numerous cultural performances conveyed the significance of unity and received enthusiastic responses from the audience.
The event was supervised by Dr. K. Anil Kumar, Deputy Head of the BA (IAS) Department, along with program conveners and faculty members.
